Description
16×20 acrylic, foil, and mica on canvas. Painted to “Goodbye” by Glenn Morrison featuring Islove.
It is literally impossible for me to listen to this song without dancing. Even while painting it, I was never still: I swayed my hips, rolled my shoulders, and occasionally took two-minute dance breaks.
The music is vibrant and hot, sexy but elusive, pursuing something without any sense of urgency. I sense it as sheer gold curtains and red velvet, silky and sensuous, with cold pinpricks on my skin.
To me, this piece evokes the colors of a desert, with rising sparks and falling snow. The movement captures the driving beat that I find so irresistible, while also subtly suggesting buildings and anonymous strangers.
Mat and frame are for display purposes only.
