The most defining feature of this song for me is the rolling drumbeat underlying the whole song, the relentless drive of a marching army, the beat of a single heart. It pulses through the velvety background as flashes of dark color, purple and blue and hints of green. The metallic chimes and sparkles of strings create shapes reminiscent of flickering firelight, bursting with sparks.
To me this piece is most evocative of a quiet prayer, offered in a moment of need, and the relief I find in believing someone will hear it.
